About Roots That Heal
This event brings together Indigenous and local farmers and food producers with Yavapai-Apache Nation families, neighboring Tribal Nations, and supporters of all kinds for a day centered on food, culture, knowledge, and connection.
The morning segment from 9am-12pm features an Indigenous Farmer’s Market with Indigenous and local vendors, cultural sharing, live performances, and raffles. From 3-7pm, the event transitions to a Farm-to-Table Community Dinner serving traditional and locally sourced food, with a food giveaway to Yavapai-Apache Tribal members at the end of the evening.
Keynote Speaker

Our keynote speaker, Clayton Harvey (White Mountain Apache) will share his insights from co-founding and managing Ndée Bikíyaa (The People’s Farm), and will answer questions after a screening of the award-winning documentary Gather.
Clayton is from Fort Apache Indian Reservation where community members know hi as “Farmer Clayton”. He co-founded Ndée Bikíyaa (The People’s Farm), and led his reservation’s first Apache Farmer’s Apprenticeship, dedicating his life to passing farming knowledge from elders to youth.
