DESCRIPTION:Join us for a celebration of School Gardens and Earth Art throughout the month of May!\nExhibit of Student and Teacher Art will continue until May 29\nSedona Hub\nGROWING CREATIVITY inspired by Gardens and Art in Schools\nWhere artist and gardeners come together a wonderful thing happens: ‘Growing Creativity – It’s a Process’ began through a meet up between muralist – Joan Bourque\, Gardens for Humanity School Garden Coordinator\, Wendy Harford\, and the Verde Valley Montessori School in Cottonwood\, providing experiential learning in planting seeds through process\, and inspiration. \nEarth Day Program:\n 3:00-4:00pm: Colorful Leaf Impressions with Maleita Wise\, BFA.  These impressions are beautiful impressions in foil and colored by kids to take home. \n3:30-4:30pm:  Dancing movements of flowers with Martha Edwards\, MFA Dancing choreography of beautiful flower growing from a seed to a blooming plant. \n3:00-5:00pm:  Planting seeds & flowers with Richard Sidy\, GfH president. children can take home these plants\, feed & and water them & watch them grow. \n3:00-5:00pm:  Recycled animals with Nancy Robb Dunst\, MA\, MC. Making hysterically funny animals with recycled objects to take home and paint. \n3:00-5:00pm:  Creating Vegetables by modeling Clay with Patty Miller\, BFA\, MA. DESCRIPTION:Discover the Peace Garden on Earth Day!\nSUNDAY\, APRIL 22 – EARTH DAY AT THE PEACE GARDEN\,\nNOON-3PM\nActivities for Children and Adults\nOn Earth Day\, Sunday\, April 22 from Noon to 3 p.m. Gardens for Humanity will host a family friendly event\, “Trees\, Bees and Solar Cookies\,” at the Peace Garden at the Sedona Creative Life Center. This event will feature nature and “five senses” scavenger hunts for children\, local beekeeper and bee teacher\, Andrew Crawford\, and an opportunity for participants to help build a solar oven and to taste cookies baked by the sun. \nThe Peace Garden is glorious in the Spring – a botanical landscape of Native plants\, herbs\, fruit trees\, and ornamental flowers and shrubs. This is a sanctuary of peace\, habitat for birds\, pollinators\, and wildlife\, and a place for contemplation and re-connecting with nature. \nLittle children will discover the garden through their senses with a scavenger hunt to guide them to find sounds\, fragrances\, colors\, textures\, shapes and critters. This will introduce them to a nature experience with their whole being. Older children will have a scavenger hunt that takes them through the garden to identify different species of plants. \nAndrew Crawford\, member of the Northern Arizona Organic Beekeepers Association\, will have a top bar nucleus-hive used for attracting swarms\, and answer questions about bee behavior\, backyard beekeeping\, bees in the big picture of food security\, and Apitherapy\, healing with bees\, of which he is a certified practitioner. \nThere will be cookies baking in a solar oven and small cookie ovens that participants can help build. There will be lemonade to go with the cookies. This free event will be a fun way to connect with all the elements that make a natural garden thrive.
