CHRISTOPHER LANE
Poet, Teacher, Entrepreneur
As a poet, an entrepreneur and a man of enormous energy and compassion, Christopher started a growing organization (Northern Arizona Poets NORAZ), which encompasses established and emerging writers of many genres. For four years he has hosted statewide Slam Poetry competitions and his team has been featured in the Nationwide run-offs between finalists.
On his own initiative he has worked with promising high school students to develop their love and mastery of language and confidence in their own ideas and presentations. He is active in fomenting what is becoming a poetic renaissance across the country.
In ministering to the other end of the age scale, Christopher visits many Alzheimer wings, bringing poetry as a means of awakening long-since forgotten memories. He memorizes classic favorites from Longfellow, Blake, Dickenson, Poe and even Shakespeare and recites a few lines, often eliciting an amazed response and joyous smile.
As a performer, all Christopher’s passion and imagination comes alive as he brings today’s new “performance poetry” into sharp focus.

With fondest memories and appreciation from Gardens for Humanity.
In 2007 Christopher became one of our Visionaries,
a Gardener of the Spirit.
He planted so many seeds in the hearts of all he touched.
They continue to bloom.
He helped many seed poets break their tough shell and
under his care their voices bloomed.
May their voices continue to evoke his spirit and bring beauty to our world.
